In-Laws too much influence

My in-laws mind their own business but sometimes I know when my husband talks to me and mama dear has been his mouthpiece. And it has happened many instances where a problem situation has occurred, he tends to ring his mother right away and makes decisions without consulting me first. It makes me feel like he doesn’t trust my judgment, I’m not his safe enough place, and I don’t feel enough! I expressed this to him and he either doesn’t want to get it or he truly isn’t aware but he just fights with me over it, instead of acknowledging what should be changed or why he does it. He says, that’s what family does, help each other. And I told him, this is my family and I want to make decisions with you about us without his family’s opinions and influence. Should I take it personal? How would you feel?
