Lipstick Nipple
My little guy is 2 weeks/1 day. We have exclusively breastfed since birth, aside from some syringe feeding expressed colostrum in the beginning. We’re working with a LC who taught me the flipple & we have been practicing that.
But I still seem to be ending up with lipstick nipple sometimes, as well as clicking & non painful pinching, primarily on my right breast. Football hold seems to deter this, but football hold isn’t easy to do when we’re out and about. When there is pain, I just relatch babe.
For our weighted feed, he did eat a bit right before our appointment, so we can’t accurately say what he fully got. But he transferred 1.1 oz.
LC said his latch is a little floppy and he is relying on his jaw a bit. As well as an upper lip tie. So she gave us some exercises to do. For those with experience, will this get better with practice and as he gets older? Any tips are appreciated.
