When is it safe?

What age is it ok to leave your kids in their rooms/livingroom awake while you take a minute to be alone with your husband? Our schedules haven't lined up in a while, wouldn't be long just something to get us through till next time lol

My partners and I have sex at night after our child is asleep. I personally don’t feel comfortable having sex while our child is awake and neither do my partners.

I work over night so on the weekends when my son is out of school he spends a lot of time playing or watching tv alone in the living room or in his room until I wake up. He’s super super independent tho and does well by his self and I leave my room door open and can hear him in there.. I think he started being ok being by his self around 4ish. He’s 6 now and does a lot on his own.. on school days I normally sleep while he’s at school and I’m up by the time he gets out at 3 , so he’s not left alone a lot of days. I think it honestly just depends on your kid and how they take hanging out by their selves.. I have custody of my little sister (13) now so when I’m tired from working nights and this first trimester fatigue lol she takes care of him for me. Makes him food , takes his baths , play with him , she’s a Ton of help ! My husband works ALOT and isn’t home much so I appreciate her help a lot.

My husband and I have bathroom quickies that don’t last longer than getting a snack. If they can be alone in the living room while I get a snack, they can be alone for the same length of time while we knock one out.

Idk… personally I wouldn’t be inaccessible to my kids until I felt comfortable leaving them home alone so probably pre/early teens. It’s one thing to have my kids alone in the house where I can just jump up and attend to them if needed. My daughter’s almost 5 and we leave her unattended and unsupervised in her room frequently, but we’re always a quick shout away. I guess it depends on how quick your quickie can be lol.
