Dating with hsv2

After two year of being together I found out the guy I was dating cheated on me and I broke things off with him. I found out Christmas day that I had got hsv2. I didn’t think anyone would want to be with me. But I started talking to a old friend of mine and he wants to date. Me. I really like him. And he knows my status. He wants to kiss and be more intimate. But im so scared id give it to him. Im even scared of kissing. I know the preventions to prevent him from getting it. But I can’t help but think it’ll happen anyway. He says he understands and we can wait till im ready. But im scared he’ll get tired of waiting. I just wanted to get this off my chest.
