I mean technically this shouldn’t even be counted as the start of the new year. The Romans changed it in year 153 BC. New years used to be on the spring equinox, which this year falls on March 20th. That’s when winter is officially over and new growth starts.

I usually do follow the not doing laundry one on NYD. But today I was an air head and threw in a load of my clients laundry at work 😪😂 so I guess we will see how the year plays out 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve also always grown up eating cabbage + pork on NYD as it’s considered good luck.
