Having minimal smiles/laughs/cooing is typically normal at 5 months. This will likely resolve itself when they are 8-10 months old and gett better at expressing themselves. However, if baby has hearing or vision problems, that would make it harder for them to recognize your silly attempts to make them laugh.
Five months old baby barely laughs.
So my son only laughs once in a blue moon, and it’s so hard to make him laugh. Is that normal?
