Does he just like playing with my head/emotions?

My boyfriend (28) and I (22) have been together for 2 years and we can be really on and off. Mostly on his end tbh. My mom said he’s just messing with me and he’s not good to me but idk I’m in denial I guess.

Anyways I notice that he has this pattern lately. Basically I feel like he wants to be in complete control. It was fine when it started with just him wanting to be more dominant during sex. But then moved to him wanting to decide everything we do during sex and only stopping if it hurts. And says he should be able to because he makes me orgasm. Anything else, he complains that he gets frustrated. Now it’s turned into just even how we talk to each other. He used to say that we fight because I don’t listen to him. Now he says he thinks we’ll stop fighting if I just say “okay” to everything, pretty much. But really I feel like he just likes to nitpick and bitch.

Something else I picked up on him doing even more is the “breaking up with me”. Lately any time we fight and he gets mad, he’ll talk about ending it or make it sound like he’s going to be done. But I notice he’ll do it more when he’s busy. So he’ll throw it out there and then be like “but I can’t talk I’m out, doing (xyz)” and then if I keep trying to talk to him he’ll act like I’m being crazy and obsessive. The other day he was with his daughter and did it right when he got there. I texted him back but said it’s fine if he spends time with her and just texted me later. He texted back and said his daughter is crying for him and he’s ignoring her bc of me. Like who told you to do that??? AND sometimes when he does break it off, I notice that if I say “okay I’ll work on stuff” (bc he always blames me) he’ll say “we’ll see” or changes his mind.

I’m getting over it. All of his behavior has just gotten worse lately. I just feel resentful to him lately. And I know they say it only gets worse over time and I can’t imagine this getting worse.
