Trying to figure out why my work is making us all get TB skin tests instead of chest x-rays. I'm pregnant and don't want to hurt my baby either
We're in a city with lots of people who have TB. My co-worker tested positive on the skin test. I haven't done one yet but I'm going to. She told me don't bother because you spend money on the test then have to go get a chest x-ray anyway. It's just a money grab.
If I have to pay for a chest x-ray anyway, why would I also pay for a skin test? I'm pregnant too so like... Why put these two harmful things in my body? Why not just the x-ray and skip over the test?
