Was I in the wrong?

My best friend is a man, we’ve been best friends since we were kids. I bake as a hobby, it’s something I’m really good at and I love making my own recipes and sharing them with my loved ones- my best friend included. I regularly share my baked goods with him.

He started dating his girlfriend a few weeks ago. Yesterday I went over to his house to hang out with them and I brought over some of my homemade soft sugar cookies which is my best friend’s favorite.

After I left, his girlfriend texted me that I’m not to bring him any more baked goods. She said it was rude and inappropriate to bake food for a man in a relationship and that she’s the one who will be baking for him from now on.

Was I rude/wrong to bring him cookies?

Lol I would be sending a screen shot of that message to your best friend with a message like "Its too bad I cant share my special baked recipes with my best friend anymore! So sorry, i didnt realize it was an issue" and leave it to him to handle it. Shes incredibly insecure and clearly jealous of you and that is something he is going to have to deal with himself. I can already tell that she is going to make him choose between the two of you very soon.

No, you didn't do anything wrong. She's just feeling insecure and creating a boundary that helps her feel more safe in the relationship. If I were in your shoes, I would just keep it in the back of my mind that she's insecure, but I wouldn't make a big deal about it. Hopefully with time she will start to realize that you are not a threat. So for now, just respect her boundaries and see how things go.  I might even ask her if it's OK if I made cookies for her or if there was something that she liked that you could make for her. If you extend a kindness like that to her, even though she's being kind of an asshole, and she still isn't getting it… Then I'm sure with time your best friend will notice that something isn't right with her. But if you react negatively, you may get pushed farther away. So just be cool about it.

No she is in insecure brat. Hopefully he doesn't let her push you away because she is trying. As a female who has a male best friend it happens a lot. We both have always chosen our friendship over a new relationship and its been clear to every one we dated that our friendship is important and if they can't deal with it not the relationship for them. Hopefully she comes around but no you brought him cookies. You didn't pop out of a cake naked. This is a her issue.
