Anyone else’s husband?

Question

Anyone else’s husband not tell you happy birthday or get you even a card, cake etc. 
Every single year I make my husband the cake he wants, either make him dinner or buy him dinner which ever he wants. And every year I ask what he wants and he always wants something like a grill, chainsaw and I always end up buying him what he wants. 1 year it was a chainsaw, then a blackstone and this year he wanted the indoor blackstone so I got that. These are all expensive gifts and I enjoy spoiling him on his birthday, but every year on my birthday, he never says happy birthday, gets/makes a cake or even a card. Feeling kind of bummed out that I go all out for him and can’t even get a “happy birthday” or a card. Im not expecting any gifts at all, just a happy birthday or a card would be nice.
Update. 
He always knows it’s my birthday. My kids are always excited to celebrate and say what did daddy buy? Or we need to make mommy a cake. But nothing. My kids usually make me a card which is the best. 
I said something last year about him not saying happy birthday and he said yes he did when he definitely didn’t and never does. And this year has been the same thing.

So....stop buying him super expensive stuff and going all out for him? Give him the same energy he gives you. Have the kids do something for him if they want to, but stop making his cakes, cooking his meals, buying him gifts, saying happy birthday. All the stuff that he doesnt do for you. Let him experience how it feels. Make sure you make it clear that moving forward you are no longer going all out for him if he cant even give you the bare minimum. Its 2025, we're matching energy now!

If this is an ongoing issue, have you brought it up to him? Is he oblivious, or willfully dismissive? If it’s intentional and willful, why do you continue to go out of your way to celebrate him?

Reciprocate his energy. If he ignores the fact it’s your birthday, then ignore his. No cake, gift, card, or acknowledgement of any kind. If he gets pissed about it, then tell him he now knows how it feels.

Sounds like you've spoken to him about it, you've gone above and beyond to show him what it's like to be loved and pampered on a birthday and he still doesn't get it or just doesn't care. So maybe you just need to adjust what you do for his birthday. Then he will feel what it's like and you might not feel so resentful when he does nothing for you if you don't put so much into it for him. Maybe it sounds a bit vindictive, but honestly, if he doesn't care about birthdays, then why spend the money on him? Just do something nice for yourself instead. ￼Shit why spend your birthday home with him? Maybe go out with your friends or something? ￼

Seems like he just doesnt care to be honest. Does he make you feel special other days of the year like christmas or mothers day. Or just because during the year? I'd talk to him if you haven't but if you have and it hasn't changed thats a bigger issue with your relationship as a whole.
