HELP!!! Shall i carry on potty training?
Update - thanks for all the advice. I think we’re just going to continue persevering and stick with it. Seems to be a better day today!
My son is 26 months old. We started potty training in January and it was going quite well. We did the no pants method and would take him to use the potty when he started to pee. After a few days he would take himself to the potty and pee on it.
Then we had to stop for about 3 weeks due to everyone at home being sick and started again earlier this week. It was like he had forgotten everything and would pee on the floor.
We had a little breakthrough when he did his first poop on the potty but now he just will not pee. He wears pants and holds his pee for hours! For the past two days he will only pee when he has a nappy on during nap time or bedtime. It’s making me so nervous and I don’t know if I should persevere through it or just go back to nappies?
I think he understands the concept and will say “I wee wee in the potty” when I ask him where he should go. He’s done it successfully before but now it’s a struggle. Am I putting too much pressure on him? Or is this just a phase he will outgrow?
Any advice or stories would help so much. Please let me know what you think.
