Aliens!!
Okay, totally has nothing to do with periods. But if aliens exist and they're supposed to have all this "Advanced technology", then why are there stories of alien crash sites? Why would they be crashing at all? If they're so advanced they shouldn't be crashing down to earth lol. Sorry this was just a wild hair.
