Confused about discharge

So I had sex about two months ago, got my period after and now my next period should come next Thursday but I’m noticing brown discharge now. I’m on the pill and he used a condom so I know I can’t be pregnant but I’m just curious why I’m experiencing brown discharge. I’ve also been experiencing slight itching down there as well. Does anyone know what this could mean? I’m currently in another country that isn’t my home for work and would like to avoid the doctors if possible as well if it’s nothing serious.
