Clomid question

Hi ☺️ My husband and I (both 26yrs) have been trying to conceive baby #2 for a little over a year now and we haven’t been successful yet. My cycles vary to be honest but I normally get my period every 35-40 days, I track ovulation and temp. We both got every test and scan done and everything came back normal which I’m happy about but my ob wants me to start clomid for 3 months. I get my period every month and I can feel when I ovulate, some months I get ovulation pain twice which I think it’s just my ovary trying to actually release the egg but anyways can clomid actually help? I was thinking ivf but should I give this a try? What do you ladies think? Any successful stories? With our first we got pregnant the first month of trying so this whole topic is new to me so I do apologize.
