How do you all pay rent

I grew up in the north but i wasn’t paying bills because i was a child and a teen, and to be closer to my sister, i moved to Raleigh North Carolina two years where i had a one bedroom apartment for $1300. Now im trying to move back up north and holy fucking cow the cost of living is INSANE. What i paid for $1300 costs AT LEAST $1800 here. A 300 foot studio apartment is $1500+. Down south i had 900 square feet, a washer and dryer, a dishwasher and a balcony. I have plenty of money in my savings but apartments deny me anyway because i only make 18 an hour (at the job in my major that i studied for four years in college 😒). Ultimately ive concluded that I have no choice but to get a small, overpriced apartment and/or find a new job. But I’m curious how do you fellow 20 something year olds pay your rent? Do you have roommates? Do you live at home with your parents? Are you rich? If so can i have some money? 🤣
