Thoughts on this convo? (Background info & context)

I have a history of issues with my dad being a narcissist - dismissive, invalidating, controlling, no one else's feelings matter, etc. The absolute worst time was last year - he and my mom ignored me & my kids for about half a year. I was very depressed. They apologized eventually. But now here we are again. What are your thoughts on this short convo? I have not spoken to him since. My mom (enabler) has not said anything. But they are both still reacting to my fb posts - I restricted my dad.

Background info:

On past trips, my husband would do something on the laptop for a few minutes like a couple times in a span of a few days (he works with his dad at the family business). My parents wanna take me & the kids on a week-long trip out of state for the first time. Finances were not discussed (I was planning on buying our own flights there. My parents want to rent a HUGE airbnb). I had mentioned my husband possibly being able to join us for part of the trip. After this convo, my husband blew up (and he rarely does).

CONVO:

Me: Husband went there before. He thinks he can join us for a little bit depending on his parents' schedule. He used to travel with his mom as a kid and his dad would come for the weekend and then head back home for work.

Dad: I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I think him coming back-and-forth and concerning himself with the operation of his business is going to complicate the trip. And that is not what I was hoping for when I talked to you about doing an extended trip like this. I would much prefer a more smooth flowing exploration of this terrific area like we usually do when we travel.

Me: It's kinda already hard enough to go on a trip without him. I don't think it'll hurt for him to be around and enjoy time together for a few days out of the trip.

Dad: What days will he be there?

Me: Idk. I think he feels alienated and not happy about it now that you don't want him on the trip.

Dad: Okay well we'll just forget about it
