Anyone nervous for actual birth?

I am a FTM I have read a ton of great stories and a few "scary" ones. I plan on doing a natural birth at the hospital as long as everything goes smoothly from here on out. I'm 35 weeks and just plain nervous i guess. I've heard some women's water doesn't even break. How am I supposed to know when to go to hospital? Thoughts please :)

If you can hold on at home until contractions are 5 minutes apart then they say to go in then x

I go natural as well n this is my 3rd baby my water never has broken on its own bur believe me u will know when to go in. Just stay calm n know that no matter if you have delivered 10 x you will still be nervous. Cause I am lol. And don't listen to all these horrible stories because each birth is different.

I'm nervous too, but I keep trying to remind myself that our bodies were made for this.  From what I read,  you don't even need your water to break at all (look up birth en caul).  I read the Big Book of Birth and I'm also preparing for a natural birth,  but reserve the right to get meds.  The book said to not go earlier than 5-1-1, which is contractions that are 5 minutes apart (starting from when the last one started), last a minute,  and have been like that for an hour.  However,  the book said your chances of having a natural birth are improved if you wait until they're 3-1-1. With all of that being said,  there are certainly different circumstances that would mean that you should go earlier so definitely talk to your doctor.
