How do I tell my military father I'm gay?

I know obviously , "dad , I'm gay" 
I just need help wording it so he will be less pissed off....

Edit: Sorry , I am a 21 year old male. I am also in the USMC , and Sexually involved with another male in the military.

You know your dad better than we do so you may have an idea of how he will react. He may already know or suspect.  He may have no idea. He's your dad and he loves you. I'm really hoping it goes well.  Big hugs to you and thank you for your service.

Is he a bigot when it comes to 'the gays' or is he cool?
If he's cool then maybe just bring over the datefriend and let that speak for itself.
If he's a bigot then wait until you're prepared to lose him forever. Unfortunately, that's what happened when my mom came out. :/ I'm cut ties before even coming out because I already knew from her experience.

That's a hard question to answer because without knowing your dad or his personality, it's kinda difficult to say what approach would be best. By reading your post it seems like you know he is not gonna be accepting of it and he will be pissed off. I wish I had better advice but if you know he's gonna respond negatively then maybe it's best to just straight out tell him, beating around the bush probably won't change his reaction much. I wish I had better advice, but I hope everything goes well and your dad and anybody else you plan on coming out to are accepting of you for who you are!!!!! Be brave you can do it!
