TTC for far too long :(

So I need some advice.. We took out my IUD in February of 2015 so we are closing in on a year of TTC .. Throughout the year we had gotten pregnant then lost the baby to a miscarriage, after the miscarriage I didn't get my period for two month so my doctor gave me a set of 10 pills to take one a day for 10 days the pills kind of "activated" my period. We are now at our first month after the set of pills and my period is supposed to start today, but I have had more pregnacy symtpoms then menstral symtpoms I feel I may not get my period this month. I've taken 3 tests so far they've all said negative.. Maybe i took the tests too early? Or maybe there is something wrong? Did any of you woman take a test that said negative and end up being pregant? Or is this just wishful thinking after a really long year
