How to ask my mom about going on birth control??

I'm about to be 16 in May and my mom is honestly pretty chill..she is like any mom just wants me to make good choices I am still a virgin I just think I might need to stat thing out protection rn considering my boyfriend and I are getting more intimate .....Anyway I'm not really sure how to bring it up without freaking her out .. Need some advice ASAP

Ask your counselor, sometimes they help with that situation. Or ask your mom if you can get it to help regulate your periods. But, always remember just because you are on the pill doesn't 100% mean you are being safe. Make sure to always always use a condom as well because the pill doesn't prevent sexual transmitted diseases. Good job in thinking safe.

It's so refreshing to see teens trying to be safe. So big props on that. But there is really no way to say it, just say something like "hey mom I would like to have a serious talk with you and I hope your not mad but I've been thinking about having Sex and I would like to be on birth control, can you help me?" If she ends up saying no then you can go to your local health department and they will do an exam and put you on birth control for free and also give you free condoms.

I would just tell her that. Say you're still a virgin but want to be responsible in case you do have sex because you're not ready to be pregnant if other contraceptives would fail. Personally my mom asked me about going on it at 16. I didn't want it for sex, but to help make my periods easier and it was a great choice. Your mom should be happy how you're being responsible especially if she's already laid back.

My mum was awesome about it as I actually went the doctors with her because of my weight and the doctor suggested birth control to get it up as my metabolism was burning anything I'd eat. I was 13 and not sexually active. She didn't believe me though but yeah lol.

Three years later and still on it, got my womanly curves and I started having sex with my then bf.

Do you ever break out? There's some Drs that suggest one pill bc it helps acne. Tell her you want this medicine that helps acne and tell the dr you want the pill

Speaking as a mother to a 15 year old (16 in March), I'd just want him to come out and tell me. I know it can be hard talking about to your parent but I don't think teens realize that it's also uncomfortable for parents too but we gotta act like it's easy for us because we want you guys to come to us and just tells us what's up. Take a deep breath and go for it. Just blurt it out....kinda like ripping off a bandaid.

My mom isn't that chill so I told her I wanted it to help regulate my periods lol. It worked and she never questioned it. Expect I got depo and it completely stopped my periods. Regretting rhat choice now lol
