Af due today!!!

Ok so k took a hpt on Wednesday I should've been 12dpo that day and I got a bfn! Not my af was due today and no signs whatsoever but my boobs are really really sensitive. They hurt so bad to just feel touch them! Could I have tested to soon (ovulated late?) I would appreciate your input ladies?!
