What to expect from a gyno exam?

Hey ladies, I'm 18 and I've never had a n exam before!! I finally booked one in a few weeks but I was wondering what's gonna go down,. I heard that they insert a metal contraption in you.. is that true?? I'm just nervous bear with me 😥

Hello! I'm 18 and had my first exam ever a couple months ago. Yes they do put stuff in you haha but it's nothing to be worried about. Have you ever seen tongs before? They're like that but they keep your vagina open for the GYN to see what's going on in there. They also use their hands. They use lube, so it's not super uncomfortable.

My Gyno uses a clear plastic one. It seems scary when you think about, especially because going to any doctor gives me anxiety attacks but I honestly have never had pain going to my Gyno. I was nervous especially to get a Pap smear which I'm not sure if you would need yet because I didn't need one till I was 21 because I heard it hurt the worse and I literally didn't even feel it.
