My friends are acting like dicks. Baby Showa Drama🙈
So... Some of my respective girlfriends came to me and told me they wanted to throw my baby shower and were asking me what I wanted my theme to be, where I wanted it , etc. They are not all friends with each other so I decided to have a brunch at my home so they could all meet and get to know each other and so I could kind of tell them what I wanted for my baby shower. It's about 6 of them throwing it. As soon as I emailed them and scheduled the brunch meeting , 3 of them started complaining about the meeting. Saying I was too involved in the planning? 1 of them who suggested the meeting, and helped scheduled the day didn't even show up :? She decided to throw her other friend a last minute birthday brunch that same day (which is weird to me). 3 out of 6 came and we discussed everything I wanted but one of my close friends and I got into it because she felt like I shouldn't be involved. I told her what did she care if I "was involved or not"?
Plus I don't really get it... Some of them openly are calling me asking what I want for my shower. I'm contributing $ money also to my own shower bc I have to have it at a venue, they sure as hell cant afford to pay for the venue and food and cake etc on their own. It's expensive ..So I want to help . :? .
In addition to this Before all of this confusion started ..I asked My very best friend (or so it thot she was my best friend) to sort of take the reigns in communicating with the girls because some of them can be messy, she knows them all well and to manage the budget for the shower only. She of course agreed to do so. Now every time I ask her about the shower she's nasty to me. :?! Last month I told her I never heard back from an acquaintance of mine who volunteered to make flower arrangements for the tables. My best friend told me she would call her and see if she still was willing to do them and she would get back to me. Neither of them ever got back to me. So I asked another friend if she could help with that. Yesterday I told my best friend that I had to ask another friend to help with the flowers and my best friend finally told me she had already talked to the acquaintance who originally was going to do it. She got so pissy with me and told me " "why don't you just stay the hell out of micro managing your own shower and let us handle it! Stay out of it!" I was shocked. She has been so mean to me , if I ask her about things related to the shower or want to talk about it. I'm just excited about it and my baby that's all I've just been waiting for this time in my life all of my life. I thought she understood that. But she doesn't have any kids so maybe she doesn't. Maybe she jealous. Maybe she's overwhelmed . I just thought she would be more of a friend to me like some of the other girls or be more gentle with me instead of growling and snarling at me when I want to talk about the shower? I mean I am pregnant I am the mommy to be 😳! It's just so confusing. But when I think back anything I ask her to help me with she acts like it's killing her. What a friend huh. Sigh..🙄
Has anyone experienced this before?... Friends being nasty towards you and telling you to stay out of helping to plan your co-Ed baby shower? I spoke with a colleague of mine and she thinks this shit is ridiculous. She said when her mother and sister threw her baby shower she was involved in the planning of it. They wanted to know what she wanted and did their best to execute what she wanted. I'm just tired of some of their attitudes and fear we won't be as close after this. That's how betrayed I feel. I don't why I feel so betrayed but I do. It's like I'm fighting with some of them just to have some involvement. I mean do they think what they are doing for me is a complete surprise? I picked the venue, paid for the deposit and told them what I wanted and Who wanted to be involved. And some are asking me for input while the one who I considered closest to me area arming at me and telling me to stay out of it. :( it just makes me frustrated and sad.
