He doesn't come over often, but it's only ever because he invites himself. He's not a bad guy, and we love him, but it pisses me off. I grew up in a house that was always just disgusting. I could only try to keep my own room clean, but even that my dad could destroy if he wanted. So being in charge of my own home, I do my best to keep it tidy. There are times, obviously, that I'm USING the space, but I always clean it up when I'm done.

The very first time he came over, right after we got married, my brother-in-law didn't even greet me before he said, "Wow, your apartment is a mess." I think he might have just been teasing his brother, but it seriously upset me.

Yesterday, he invited himself over for the Super Bowl because we have a bigger TV. The door wasn't even closed before he said, "Why is your house super clean? Isn't it always super... not-clean?" My husband laughed, and I just said, "No." But I'm still so upset about it. -_-

Anyone else have family members like that?
