Student hairstylists?

Would you ever allow a student cosmetologist to cut your hair, do highlights, etc.? There's a salon academy here offering $29 haircuts and $29 highlights from student hairstylists, which is a really good price as I'm sure most of you know. If you've ever gone to a student cosmetologist, what was your experience?
