Valentines? Gender neutral for the classroom..
Hey guys so I know this isn't too controversial but I'd like your opinion. So I'm student teaching in a fourth grade classroom and their valentine party is coming up so I chose to buy two sets of valentines one that is minions for the boys and one for the girls that is princess themed. After I bought them I thought about it I don't think it's a good idea to seperate the cards based on gender if I guy a boy a minions valentine but he wanted a princess one isn't that a bit wrong? Same for the girls although the minion themed card is gender neutral looking maybe a girl would like to recieve a minion valentine. I also don't want the kids to complain becuase they didn't recieve the one they wanted. I thought the Disney ones were sososo cute and I would have loved it if I were a young girl
So should I return the Disney Princess card pack and give all the students a gender neutral valentines or should the girls have the princess and boys get minions.
Ps the valentines include a themed pencil as well
Thanks everyone.. feel free to give an opinion as well I'm leaning towards all students getting a gender neutral card..
