Period after giving birth?

I am breast feeding and formula plus sometimes pump. Was wondering how long did it take for your period to start after giving birth? Also was it like it was befor having your baby? My baby is 7 weeks old and I thought mine started yesterday seemed like it was going to be heavy but was only bleeding when going to the bathroom. I had pad ready and everything but now today it's gone..
