Would you spend the money on this? Is it helpful? I had just the regular bumbo with my daughter and she used it well, but got chubby super quick and couldn't really fit in it for that long.

We have one and my son loved it we used it until he figured out how to undue the tray and climb out (they didn't sell the buckle one when we bought it) def worth it

I read on some Montessori website that it's good to avoid habitual use of things like this- basically anything that holds him in place in a snug way.  Like the argument was don't let the chair be your babysitter.

The reason given was that it slows down the baby's natural process of building core strength/muscle coordination/torso control.  You know- like he should be exercising those muscles, not having the seat hold him up.

(Presumably this only applies if you would be leaving him in it for awhile).

This seat does look SUPER convenient though..... It's got a feeding table, and it's portable to boot.

I bought the mamas and papas seat on Craigslist for $20.  I heard it has more legroom for chubby babies.

My lil boy grew out of it super fast. I wouldn't buy it brand new for sure.
