Scoliosis??

Im 17 And I Just Got diagnosed With Scoliosis My Freshman Year I Was Told I Had AS Arthritis And Im Just A Nervous  Wreck I Had To Drop Out Of School And Start Online Schooling Its Good But It Upsets Me That I Cant Walk Across The Stage With My Class..? Also I Will Never Be Able To Get A Really Good Job Because I Hurt To Much Doing Anything. I Feel Like Im Going Thru This Alone I Have My Boyfriend Who Is 100% Supported But I Feel Like My Family Isnt How Should I Start Learning To Handle This??

I highly recommend finding a good chiropractor. With regular chiropractic adjustments scoliosis can be fixed. My mom had surgery for scoliosis five times and each time it failed (hence why they had to do so many). Finally she started going to my chiropractor and finally started to make progress.

I have scoliosis too and although I'm in almost constant pain, I don't qualify for disability. I see a chiropractor once a week though, as well as a physical therapist, and practicing yoga.

I'm sorry it took you so long to get diagnosed. If you're in the US, I highly recommend calling Shriners (and as soon as possible as you're close to being too old). I had scoliosis surgery there when I was 11 and they're amazing.

My sister did not get diagnosed until high school and her back was BAD. She opted out of surgery and she has three healthy kids and a healthy life.

I have scoliosis too and work 40+ hours a week on my feet. I have back pain daily and honestly I don't think there is any way to avoid it. I've done pt and been to many doctors. I do my best to keep my core as strong as possible to help support my back. I'm TTC #1 and a little nervous about what pregnancy will bring to my back pain but willing to deal with the pain if I get the chance to have a baby! You're definitely not alone. I say if you're in unbearable pain almost daily you should definitely look into surgery. They have a lot of options now that are less invasive!
