Safe to use a used breast pump ?

A breast pump was given to me and I'm wondering if it's ok to use or should I replace any parts or clean n disinfect certain parts ? Advice please and thanks 🙂

Get all new flanges and tubing but the pump itself is fine since milk doesn't pass through it, wipe it down with some vinegar (or Clorox) but it's fine

Clean and disinfect. I know that here in Canada, you can even rent breast pumps, so it's not unsanitary to use someone else's if it's clean. :)

If you're on WIC you can get one for free. Also I know that some insurances pay for pumps. If it's an electric machine you could just buy a new kit for it. Pumps are personal hygiene products and should only be used by one person, but use your best judgement. Hope that helps.

Make sure you inspect it really good & clean it!! Someone gave me one & I found moldy milk in one of the tubes.

Normally it's recommended to replace the tubes, flanges and membranes. You should be able to order those parts from the breast pump manufacturer. :)
