Signs of pcos?

Question

Any of you ladies have pcos?
What are your signs?
I have hair around my nips, but that's it.

I just wanna know, back in November 2013 while in California, I had an ultrasound both external and vaginally, you'd think they'd find it via ultrasound, right?

My mom has it, but she has long arm hair, no hair around her nips tho.

Not trying to be gross.

Just wanna know what to look for..

PCOS is not diagnosed through ultrasound. It's diagnosed through blood work. You can have poly cystic ovaries without have PCOS. You can also have PCOS without having the cysts. I don't have cysts that often but have PCOS. Some of the bigger symptoms are: thinning hair, skin tags, dark skin patches usually on neck, underarms, and groan area. Irregular periods. Weight issues. Some women have excess hair in places that most don't! I luckily don't have that problem. But PCOS affects everyone differently. I would say that if your mom has it, then you should get blood work done.  It is hereditary.

Someone help mei have pcos and finally from last nov2015 to may2016  i got my last periods one may 13 and till. No periods and there are spottings for last three days that to only for 5-10mins i have symptoms of pregnancy dont know i checked hpt on the. 45th day of my cycle it was negative and again i tested it on 19th evening it was neg again i did it on next day morn it was negative i dont kniw wat to do please help me.....

I'm in the process of checking for PCOS. I'm booked for an ultrasound soon to check for cysts, as my husband and I have been TTC for almost a year and on/off trying for 2+ years. I have painful, irregular periods, mood swings, skin tags, and my latest blood tests showed low day 3 estrogen (average level but scraping the bottom of average!), and my insulin is high.

My mom told me I'd know it if I had pcos, and they would've most likely found it on the ultrasound

But I don't have long hair on my arms, or much of any of the other symptoms you gave, Corlene.

Yet I'm still worried.

I've been diagnosed since I was 15 I never have had a regular period, I have facial hair, and I gain about ten to twenty pounds a year and my diet hasn't changed so I finally got surgery to help with my weight because the weight makes all the other symptoms worse. ​Hair, I also when I was younger I had really deep set in zits that made me cry just to try to pop. Now that I'm older it has been taken care of. I also grew up skinny but once I hit 12 I started rapidly gaining weight and my straight hair became curly. Just any bizarre changes came occur in making pcos show and I was told you can't exactly diagnose it you have to rule out everything else to find out if you have it, process of elimination.

The main thing you want to check for is cushings disease especially if your blood sugar is high or have the dark spots because cushings often is misdiagnosed as pcos. But is a lot worse for you. I've never once had a regular period and Even being on the pill to try to regulate it, it never works. So I fear for infertility but I am only 20 so hopefully everything will be normal when I am ready to have children.

Slight cramping, mood swings, hormonal changes! For me it's the same symptoms of pregnancy but it was confirmed by vaginal ultrasound that I have PCOS! Talk with your doctor and maybe they can look again
