Hair dye and pregnancy??

Question

My hair is poop! I would like to dye it or fix it from this ugly brown color back to an auburn, but I am afraid!

I heard in your third trimester it's basically fine. I think I even dyed my sisters hair for her when she was 7 or 8 months pregnant..

I'd like to look or feel good for maternity pics and our baby shower.. Any advice or recommendations on possibly some super natural, or not so harsh hair dyes? (Not henna)

The doctor told me it is ok to do, but that due to the hormones it may not come out how you imagine it will.  I decided to forgo any coloring and its sucked because even though I'm 29 I have so many greys, but honestly no one cares they are more focused on my belly :)

Can't help with any natural options, but it's fine to dye your hair in any trimester. By the time I had my first doc appointment my hair was looking rough because I hadn't colored it for quite some time and it was one of the first questions I asked (after the important ones lol). My docs response was of course you can dye your hair, just don't bathe in it lol. That and make sure you're in a well ventilated area. He said that my body will be doing enough changes making me self conscience that I didn't need to feel bad about my hair too 😂.  I went and got my hair highlighted instead of dying it myself like I usually do because it was just easier and I was planning on highlighting it soon anyway. It's up to you though! Once my doctor told me it was okay, I was comfortable doing it. I didn't listen to what other people had to say because they weren't doctors.

I dyed my hair in my 1st trimester and my 2nd and my 3rd lol. My hair dresser has done hers too all through her pregnancy. This is my 3rd baby. With my first two I waited until my second trimester but with this baby I already had an appointment set for 3 days after I found out and I kept it and went. My midwife told me not to dye again till my 2nd trimester so I did nothing till then after the first time. Everything that I looked up said that not enough of the cemicials get in to your system to have any effects on the baby but it's best to wait because of your changing hormones and how your hair might react.

I dyed mine in my second trimester.  First time ive ever dyed my hair while pregnant and it wouldnt stay for shit. Lol finally i gave up and im just gonna wait till the baby comes cuz mine wont cooperate.

As long as you're in a well ventilated area and not using bleach, it's perfectly fine to dye your hair.

I'm a cosmetologist, hair color is perfectly safe while pregnant but I highly recommend having it professionally done. Box dyes have higher amounts of ammonia than anything stylists use because they are meant to accomadate all hair types and situations, therefor they are much harsher on your skin and are more likely to malfunction. If your skin has been sensitive while pregnant you could ask your stylist about a Demipermanant hair color which has almost no ammonia.

I've dyed my hair every month since I was pregnant with my oldest & she's 4 & currently pregnant with #3 my doctor said its fine as long as your in a well ventalated room, nothing small so the fumes don't overwhelm you! Go get your hair done & feel better girl!!!  😗

I dyed mine when I was like 7 weeks, I normally bleach but I went brown less chemicals and read that keep it away from scalp so just leave a little bit of root and if you don't want to to that keep it on for as short as possible. Also do it in a week ventilated place there's no actual evidence saying its bad for baby
