False Negative?

Question

Have any of you gotten a false negative on the day that AF is due? Im 3 days past my expected AF and still havent see any signs of her. Could the negative be due to my having a 35 day cycle? I think I read that in women with longer cycles the hormone may not be picked up on a hpt until a week past AF. Anyone have any idea?

Yes the day of my period I took a test and come back negative so I kept testing and everyday they come out negative so on the 9th day late I test and it come back positive so I kept testing every day tell I went to the doctor and I am pregnant I am 7 weeks 6 days so I was 19 dpo and 9 days late on period before I got my postive!!!! Yes a false negative before your period is possible you might not have enough HCG levels to detect it yet!!!!! Good luck

Cycle length doesn't really have anything to do with a hpt detecting hcg. Longer cycles still typically still have 14 day luteal phases. It's very unlikely to get a false negative on the true day of AF being due because if your body has turned off the menstrual cycle it's likely that there is enough hcg present by that point. You may not have ovulated when you thought, pushing AF back farther, if that makes any sense.
