Too Young To date? What If We Don't Talk?

I am only 13, and a lot of my friends are dating. I think it's fine and my mom says it's alright to date now. I have had a crush on this boy since I was 9-ish and I found out he likes me. I want to date him... But I am scared I won't ever talk to him cause we go to different schools now. He is great and all, but we don't hang out that much. I'm just scared people will judge me if I mainly text and call him instead of hang out after school and stuff.
