A week and a half ago I had a major surgery to remove a cyst from my abdomen that was the size of a watermelon, while I was 15 weeks pregnant. I'm on the mend now and have seen my OB twice (also who did the surgery) and he says the baby is fine. They couldn't do it laproscopically, and had to cut me open from my sternum down to my pubic bone. All of the doctors I spoke with (I work in healthcare) all said how risky of a surgery it was, but the cyst had to come out or the baby wouldn't have room to grow. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this procedure done while pregnant, or a major surgery like this? I feel like I'm battling TWO battles now, being pregnant AND recovering from surgery, and I'm also very afraid to take my painkillers because of how the baby could be effected. Just looking out for some guidance from any other mamas or mamas-to-be.
