Ovarian cyst rupture
Hi all! I've never posted here before so bear with me.
Last week on Wednesday night I had severe pelvic pain--went straight to my gyno and had an ultrasound--turns out Id had a pretty large ovarian cyst and it had ruptured right after sex (eeeeek!). The pain was much better, so I just have a follow up appointment in a few weeks, and they said I just wait as my body heals.
However, I'm also now two days late for my period, lots of bloating and cramping, some leftover pains from the cyst rupture, and general fatigue and some nausea.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and knows how to deal with the after effects of a rupture, how long are they supposed to last, and does it sometimes causes a missed period?
I have the Mirena IUD (had it for 2 years) and that was all in place when they looked at the ultrasound, so it seems unlikely that I'm pregnant, but i suppose it is possible.
