sinful to use a tampon before sex?

my moms super strict about this whole thing and like i wanna use a tampon bc it seems so much more comfortable than pads but my mom thinks u should "pop ur cherry" or break ur hymen with ur SO after marriage. my friends think i should just do it without telling her but my moms not super religous or strict or anything so this is like the only major rule shes made towards me. I'd  feel guilty if i did it but im also rlly scared its gonna hurt me to do it lol. someone helpppp what should i do??

Well I found out that breaking your hymen can happen by doing the splits. Having sex doesn't always become the fate of the hymen. Alot of girls lose it through sporting activities and other things of that matter.

There's actually little pamphlets in the tampon box with FAQs one of which is the myth that tampons will "pop your cherry" I'd recommend having your mom read up on it! A tampon really shouldn't pop your hymen!

I never used a tampon until after I had sex for the first time.. I'm 22 and lost my virginity at 14.. I tried and tried before then, even my mother tried telling me how to do it..  but it was always so uncomfortable. Maybe I was putting it in wrong, I'm not sure.. I just know after I had sex and tried it again it didn't feel uncomfortable, lol. All I can tell you is really it's a personal preference.. If you're not very heavy then there's really not much need for a tampon in my opinion.. Hope this helps, even a little :)

Your hymen is very very thin tissue that can break at the smallest movements in that area like riding a bike, a horse, or masterbation (that last is a bit off from the frist two but true none the less)

I used them way before I had sex, it depends on your body. They won't "pop your cherry" as your hymen just stretches and doesn't actually break. It might feel a little odd when you put it in but if it's in correctly you shouldn't even notice it in there. It might be harder to insert if your muscles down there are "tight"

I'd recommend googling facts about hymens & tampons. It's actually a myth that your hymen breaks during sex (or when using a tampon) the hymen jut doesn't work like that. Your hymen already has a hole in it that usually grows and causes your hymen to disappear when your a teen. It's true you might feel uncomfortable pressure or slight pain (if you've never had anything inserted inside you before).

My mother was the same way when it came to tampons and it made me afraid to try tampons, but when I was 15, I was stranded on a school trip where my friends only had tampons, I thought it would hurt like crazy (because I was a virgin ) but I only felt weird pressure for a few mins (because my friends gave me a super absorbent tampon instead of a regular tampon)  before it went away, so I'd say to try a small tampon (Kotex makes really small ones for teens) if you wanted to try them. BUT you shouldn't feel pressured to use tampons if you try it and don't like it/ or they make you uncomfortable.
