Who puts the crib together?

My boyfriends family told me they'll put my crib together while I'm at the hospital in labor because it's bad luck to set it up before hand. I'm huge on planning and I feel like it's going to cause so much anxiety knowing his nursery still isn't put together. I have about 13 weeks left and his room isn't even painted yet! Simply because my in laws are painting it for us & they say it's too soon. It's our first child and I'd like other pregnant woman to inform my boyfriend who puts the crib together and when.

My hubby and I have done everything. If you want something done right, do it yourself my dad always said.

I've never heard it being bad luck.. I'd understand if you were still in first half of pregnancy but not with as far along as you are. Weird..

We put ours together around 4 months? My husband mainly put it together but there would be no way I could wait until baby is born to put it up. His nursery will be complete probably a month in advance so I won't have to worry about anything when I go into labor.

Some women aren't even with the dad so it doesn't matter who puts it together but if your with the dad and able to then its somethings nice to do together!

My nursery was half done for weeks. Everyone kept saying I had plenty of time. Well my baby girl came at 34w. My in laws and family all came together to get the nursery and my home together while I was at the hospital. I was nervous about waiting till the last minute, but so grateful that it got done when it needed to.

You could always do it yourself, or just relax and trust in their word.

I put mine up myself when I was around 6months cause I was to excited to wait and wanted everything done before Bub got here.

We put the crib together for our son about 2-3 weeks before he was born. My husband painted the room and did all the heavy lifting.

I've heard the superstition that it's bad luck to have the crib assembled ahead of time. I think it's Hispanic?  That being said, we didn't even bother with a nursery until after baby was born. Both my kids slept in my room in a bassinet anyway for the first 6 months or so.
