Belly !

I'm roughly 8-9 weeks, had my first appt with a midwife last week and that's her guess based off the heartbeat she picked up with the Doppler. I go back next Friday for an ultrasound but I'm concerned I'm too big to be in the beginning stages. My best friend is 11 weeks and barley looks different with a relatively flat stomach ! My other friend who is due any day now didn't show till almost 6 months. This is the first baby for us all and I swear I look about 3 -4 months already. Is this normal ?
