Vanishing twin?

so I went for my ultrasound and we were there for like half hour and the tech wasn't saying anything then she left the room to get the radiologist. I look on the screen and I swear I saw two sacs...my husband was like there is no way. Well the tech comes in and said looks there was twins but one of them the sac is empty and they other one has a heartbeat. So looks like I lost one. I am sad but at the same time thankful I have one viable baby. I am in shock right now! Anyone ever experience this? Or had a good outcome and both twins survive?

Im a twin suriver this happened to my mom but they had thought there was only one baby because she miscarried and they gave her the pills that clean out your system and she went in a week later to tell them the pills were not working and they had no idea but she was still pregnant with me I'm now 23 almost 24 and almost 11weeks pregnant myself so everything should be just fine with your little one

That happened to my mom with my sister . My mom had a huge belly bcus of the two sacs but my sister was full term and healthy no nicu or anything . GoodLuck hope all is well and congratulations on your pregnancy

We had exactly the same thing happen to us on Tuesday, one healthy. 12+4 with strong heartbeat but the only only 9weeks n no heartbeat. We was also completely mixed up with emotions....

​However, we've got further complications because they couldn't tell from the scan if they were  sharing a sac. They think they are sharing a placenta, which means I'm high risk and need to go back to the consultant tomorrow! Eek!

This happened to my cousin and good friend, both there (remaining) babies are perfect and healthy.

It's unfortunately a common thing. First there are two fertilized eggs - but just 1 of them will grow further. That's nature and shouldn't effect your Baby. Happy nine month!
