Success expressing Colostrum!

Carrie
Before anyone starts telling me I shouldn't be pumping or expressing before I have the baby; I know this! I have gestational diabetes and highbloodpressure, I'm 37 weeks and will be induced on Monday because my sugar numbers have been really high and my blood pressure is rising.
So there's a really good chance my baby will be born with low blood sugar and taken to the NICU. I'm pumping to avoid them giving him formula as breast milk is the best thing for him and me at this point.
I've been super nervous because I haven't leaked at all, just some crustyness on my nipples.... But after about three minutes with the manual pump I got a few drops! I'm so proud!!! It's barely anything but it's a good start and hopefully tomorrow I'll get a bit more and have enough to feed him at least once to raise his blood sugar in case he doesn't latch on when he's born.
