Tongue tie?

Was recently told my 3 week old baby has a very subtle tongue tie. LC said my pediatrician would probably not even notice it. My poor babe can only latch on to a nipple shield. He can latch on to just me for a few seconds but has issues remaining on. We have a doctor appointment Monday but does anyone have any experiences with this? The shield is inconvenient for me but I'd rather continue its use than get my baby's tie snipped 😢 thanks ladies !

My daughter (3 weeks now) was born with a slight tongue tie. She was having a lot of trouble making it through a feeding and lost too much weight. We had her frenulum clipped when she was less than a week old and it made a huge difference. If baby needs it done I recommend it. It is quick and baby will only cry for a few minutes. You can actually breastfeed right after.

Mine had a tongue tie as well. I had issues with the nipple shield so I pumped then fed him from a bottle. His tongue was clipped at his two month apt. It didn't hurt him and he latches great now. I was nervous about it but read a lot about speech problems down the road if not taken care of and Id rather do it while he's young and can't remember.

Don't worry about getting the tongue snipped it literally doesn't hurt them at all! I had to get my tongue snipped when I was about 10 and because they'res only very little nerves under the tongue I didn't feel a thing! Itll help you breast feed aswel as with speech when bub starts to talk!
