Am I being too needy?

I was thinking about this last night as my birthday is next week, but it's been starting to bother me my boyfriend of a year, (and now father to my unborn child) has never gone out of his way to do anything special or spoil me on special occasions. Not even a card or a special night with dinner. I'm not a woman that required those things but it's been a year and still nothing. I go all out for his birthday, bought him a GoPro for Christmas, this gorgeous watch and a weekend away and movie dates. His birthday this year I'm taking him to Universal Studios since he's never been. But it's just kinda making me depressed because I haven't felt special during a special occasion. Am I being too irrational?
