Paragard and bleeding??

I had the Paragard put in November of 2015 after having my baby girl. I chose the Paragard bc it's hormone free but I am not digging this whole bleeding experience..It's like I go thru a super tampon every hour for the first 3 days. I was wondering if it will let up some. I don't mind the fact that it's longer but the amount is annoying and uncomfortable!

I went through the same thing with Paragard. Had mine for almost three years now after the birth of my daughter.  The bleeding in the beginning is very inconvenient and a paain to deal with, but it does decrease over time.  Now my periods are lighter than they were before I got the IUD. It probably took around a year before my period was what I would consider reasonable and it's still getting lighter every few months. Everyone's body is different and reacts differently, but for me, putting up with the heavy bleeding has been worth it in the long run to have long term hormone free bc.

I switched to a menstrual cup for my first paragard period, which I was expecting to be a blood bath. The menstrual cup holds a lot more than a tampon. For me I prefer emptying my cup every 3 hours over changing a tampon every hour. Although today was rough; I'm starting to rethink if I might prefer the convenience of tampons (quick pull out, applicator push a new one in) every hour for my really heavy days when the hands on work of a menstrual can get exhausting so many times in a day. Def love the cup for the not as heavy period days when I can leave it in 12 hours no problem.

Every body works differently because everyone is different and their situation is different. If you feel disconfer and you dislike the bleeding then remove it, but if you want to maintain yourself "hormone free" then learn how to deal with your period. Working out and drinking a lots of water could help your during your period time. If you don't workout may be that could definitely be a main reason to why you bleed soo much during the first days. I bleed okay, but the first year it was heavy bleeding during the 3 first days. Now it is normal.
