Thyroid Antibodies/Autoimmune Issues?

Question

Has anyone else been diagnosed with Hashimoto's or elevated thyroid antibodies?

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis a few years ago based on a blood test showing higher than normal thyroid antibodies. I've been on synthroid for a while and my TSH seems to be under control, but I can't help wondering if this autoimmune issue explains why we haven't been successful yet.

Anyone else in the same boat or dealing with other autoimmune troubles? What has your RE said about them?

I have Hashimoto's and also have PCOS.  Although one does not cause the other, my dr thought they could be somewhat related because they both have to do with problems between the brain & hormone regulation.  I take synthroid & that is regulated now.  No "cure" for PCOS - had 4 unsuccessful IUIs, now moving on to IVF.

Also there is a debate out there about whether T4-only medications are sufficient for replacing thyroid hormones. Some think natural dedicated thyroid is much better. I'm reading "Stop the Thyroid Maddness" now and am going to ask my thyroid doctor about switching from Synthroid to Armour.

Hi Melissa! If you're still checking this thread...could you share what your infertility history is, what immune issues you found and how they were treated?

I have endo plus autoimmune thryoid disease, and just had a BFN from ivf #1. I'm wondering if there's something else I can do to improve my chances. Thank you!

I have hashimotos and have had difficulty maintaining pregnancy. Finally checked blood clotting disorders after a year. positive for MTHFR 677t homozygous which is suprisingly common for those with hashimotos. Worth checking into especially if history of multiple miscarriages.

Thanks for all your input, ladies! I guess I'm just going to keep taking my meds and hope for the best. Anyone try any diet modifications to help calm your immune response?

I was just diagnosed with hashimotos last month. This is cycle #6 TTC #1. They are still working to regulate my levels. As it hasn't been a year yet, I've just been told to use OPKs and see that I'm ovulating each month. I started using them last month and did ovulate so waiting for cd15 to start testing this month.

We are just trying on our own until June of next year when my OB/gyn will start treatments.

I have RA, and I believe it's for sure taken a toll on our fertility. And greatly linked to endometriosis.

I'm not sure about the exact ramifications, but my husband's aunt has lupus and is having trouble with TTC #2. It makes her extremely prone to miscarriages. She's over 40 and is having trouble starting up IVF because of it and is going to use donor eggs due to her age.

Yes and I just take synthroid my RE said there is nothing else I can do just monitor it
