Pregnant and Aggravated

Kim • Mother of two girls, ages 10 and 1. Expecting baby #3 in September! :-)

Okay, so this is a totally random post, but I felt like I need to vent to some people that were totally unbiased on the situation. And, like the subject states, I need to know if it's just pregnancy hormones causing me to have so much anger about this or what.

My first high school class reunion is coming up. I've been looking forward to it for several years, as my husband and I moved away from the area pretty much immediately after graduation and have rarely been back. I had some good friends in high school that I haven't seen since we graduated.

The class officers scheduled the reunion before school is out for the summer. I live far enough away that my family and I can't just make the trip in a weekend. I, like many of my classmates, have a school-age child; therefore, the only way for me to make the trip is to let her skip some school.

I brought this up to them when they had mentioned a tentative date on the Facebook group, and some of my classmates agreed. Yet, they have still scheduled the reunion on the same date, before the end of the school year. My daughter has missed so many school days due to illness, I will not be able to just have her miss a couple of days (plus my husband to take off of work a couple of days) just to go.

I feel like these classmates (that still live within 5 minutes of the school) are not doing what's best for the majority of the class, and it has just really upset me! There's nothing I can do to change it, but it just makes me mad that they aren't taking what I feel like is a legitimate concern into account. Ugh!

Have you ever heard of a class reunion being scheduled so early? I can't imagine what the reasoning would be.
