Cervidil??? 😳😳😳

I'm getting a cervidil Monday at 6pm, can anybody tell me about their experience with cervidil I'm a little nervous about it even though this is my third pregnancy.. My first 2 pregnancies they gave me the gel insert so I'm new to the cervidil ladies please help!!!

I had it and it dropped my darling's heart rate and i also had no dialation. Pitocin and switching positions worked!

I didn't feel a thing. I got it around 7pm and the next morning I was 75% effaced but only 1 cm dilated. The plan was to put me on pitocin next, but then baby changed positions and I had to get a c section. Everyone's body is different but I felt fine with it. I just couldn't get up for 2 hours and I had to pee in a bedpan

I had cervidil with no dilation. It didn't hurt me when they put it in or after. It did nothing for me. 12 hours later I still hadn't dilated and they started my pitocin.

I got cervidil and placing it... Was hell. She couldn't get it to stay and it felt like she was stabbing me, I was yelling and so uncomfortable. It didn't hurt after but I couldn't move for an hour so it didn't slip back out she said lol.. I didn't feel it much that night but it didn't dilate me or soften much. The pitocin did the job the next day though.

I got mine around 6 pm(it could have been 8pm, I don't remember much lol) but I was brought in and already was having contractions before they started it (they were so small I could barely tell, I thought it was Braxton hicks). I was given half a dose to start, then was given a whole dose. 30 minutes after that second dose my water broke on its own. An hour later my contractions kicked up so quickly and so strong that I had to get an epidural around 12pm the best day. I pushed for 5 hours and had baby around 8pm. So about 24 hours of labor

It was easy peasy for me! Cervidil was placed at 7pm. I was 0cm and 50% effaced. I actually started contracting around 3am. At 7am they took it out, let me shower and checked me. I was 2cm and 80%. They broke my water and started pitocin. At 4pm, I was at a 5 and got my epidural, then I went to fully dilated and ready to push in less than an hour! I pushed for less than 30 min and she was 8lbs 8oz! Don't be scared at all!!!

I wasn't dilated or effaced at all when they inserted Cervadil at 4 pm. At 9 pm, my water broke. So, they took Cervadil out and started Pitocin. With the water breaking and Pitocin, I started having contractions. After three hours of contractions with Pitocin, I was only 1 cm dilated, so I got an Epidural at 1am. Got to sleep from 1am to 5am, had back pressure at 7am that kept getting worse and was 8 cm at 7:30am. Started pushing at 9:40 am and 10:10 she was born 😀

For me when they put it in, it wasn't the most pleasant thing (my cervix was sitting so far back, in order to reach it with the cervidil it hurt).  But I was an unusual case.  After it was inserted, I didn't even know it was there, you can still use the restroom with it.  After the 12 hrs my doctor wanted them to place another one, but the on call OB at the time did not do this (which is unfortunate).  about 4 hrs after they had removed it my OB visited and checked my cervix it was a lot softer than prior to cervidil but it was still far back.  I was dilated from a 1 prior to cervidil to a 3, so she broke my water and started Pitocin.  8 hrs later I had a baby in my arms.

Best thing ever!!! I hate petocin!! Does its job but geez cervadil is the best thing!!! Just make sure they make u walk A LOt!!! They'd give me some and make me walk for a whole hour!! I had a fabulous labor and contractions were a breeze thanks to cervadil. Good luck if u haven't had ur baby. 🙏🏻
