How to make mommy friends?

I don't have many friends, let alone female friends that are expecting. I don't think I even know of any right now. How do you make other friends that are also moms? I want to be able to have play dates once the baby comes and to just build some friendships of my own. Why don't they have match.com but for making friends? Lol

Oh god. I think Monday? It was one of my first days home alone with my son. And after my husband came home from work he and I were catching up about our days and I finally ask him "how do I make friends?" he kinda giggled. My best friend lives 1200 miles away. And I don't have any other female friends that I talk to. He said it helps by going places.... Problem is.... I only go to the grocery store and Dr's office til I go back to work :/

You can find mommy friends at church if you would be open to that. At my church there are lots of moms around my age.

Go to parks, story time at libraries,  mommy and me classes, etc.

I've made mommy friends at my church and through other friends who have babies. I bet you could also make some mommy friends by going to your public library or something like that!

I'm a part of a baby wearing group on Facebook that gives advice on wraps and slings and such. It's all local moms and they have playdates weekly. I'm also a part of another group that someone I went to college with started for our hometown. Lots of my old high school and college acquaintances that have had kids and are in the same situation as you are on there for support and a safe place to ask questions and play dates naturally arise! Maybe look into something similar?

I don't really know but I'd suggest talking to mom's at playgroups or playgrounds or take a prenatal class of some sort.
