How do ovulation tests work ?

Hey ladies ! This is my second cycle TTC I am thinking about buying ovulation tests ? How do they work ? Do I baby dance on my peak or smiley faces days or does that mean my peak is coming soon ? I'm totally lost! Any advice is welcome

Ovulation tests for the luteinzing hormone or LH. We all have a bit of LH in our systems. Now LH is the hormone that triggers ovulation. I've used opks before in the past. First cycle thus month using them. I would bd before smiley or peak day then baby dance when you get smiley and peak day and a bit after. After a + opk you usually ovulate within 12-24 hours or so.
