Can doctors take away a diagnoses?

Question

I was diagnosed with a mental illness but my new psychiatrist only saw me for about two minutes and said he didn't think it was correct. 
He is notorious for doing this, does not have a good reputation..
So can he re diagnose me, or take the diagnoses away? I am just curious.

Mental health issues can very easily be misdiagnosed.

If the doctor you are seeing now is know to be a bad doctor, see a new one.
Not all psychologists/psychiatrists are of the same skill level.

They can. I actually went to a new doc when I moved out of my house and across the country, this doctor said that he didn't think I have Crohn's disease but had something else and said in order for me to go to their practice I had to be rediagnosed...I laughed my ass out of there and said I've had Crohn's disease since I was 7 and I don't think you can erase what the mayo clinic diagnosed me with 16 years ago. Moral of the story find a new doc.

See another doctor. If you arent recieving ssi or ssdi i see no point in fighting for a diagnosis of mental illness.
